The statement that "agent running is a waste of time" is a plain lie, and the "LP angle" remark is just silly. In my experience, mission rewards, bonus rewards and bounties have increased on average since Exodus launch, especially for time-consuming missions, so I now make more isk per day than I used to, and I already made more than enough pre Exodus - far from being a waste of time for me
I didn't say agent running was a waste of time. I said doing it for the LP was a waste of time, because there is no longer eeven a reasonable certainly that you can get anything worthwhile for the LP and a reasonable chance that the accumulated LP will simply have to be abandoned. Yes, I can make plenty of isk doing kill missions (but forget about courier missions), but I can make more trading and killing the same rats in the same missions countless times purely for the sake of making isk is not all that much exiting than mining.
Quote: The LP offers are a bonus, the icing on the cake.
And they are what made missions worth doing. The ability to work toward some goal, be it a ship, a module, or farming implants in order to buy what you wanted.
Cake without icing may be sweet, but it's very dry and I personally don't enjoy eating it.
Quote: Sure, if you ignore all other sources of income that agent runners have, and pretend that LP offers were the only reward you get, you would have a right to complain. And if your sole reason of agent running was to farm certain special offers, I can understand that you are upset, but then I'd suggest that you take off your blindfolds and look at all the other stuff missions have to offer.
You're talking about isk, and I'm talking about enjoying oneself. I enjoy working toward some goal (I'm an 'achiever' in the old gaming typology), not running in the hamster wheel just to watch the zero's add up in my wallet. I want the navy modules and the ships and I prefer to get them for myself than buy them. I already have more than enough cash, because I make 5x as much in a day's trading than I ever made on a day's missions. If all I wanted was cash, I have several more efficient (and less tedious) ways of doing it than running missions.
(edited addition)Do you really think all those HT scanners I sold you when you were farming implants a few weeks ago were sold to you at a loss? Or that I got them all for LP?
So yes, I am in it for the LP and I'm glad you understand that on that basis I do have a right to be upset.
If I can find another way now to keep myself entertained in EVE, great. If not, there are always other mmorpg's.
Quote: The statement about implant prices is probably wrong, too. With the storyline missions having been fixed, the amount of implants on the market should increase, and the average implant prices should drop, at least that's what I'd bet on
We'll see
ok i am sorry your posts are just stupid. i agree with daolin and so should you lol, cause clearly you were doing missions before exodus to have a level 4 agent ready so you must have been doing agent missions for reasons other then LP offers, to me agent offers are the little extra nicety, i do agent missions for the fun of killing **** and to make some isk, also for the loot drops (yes i have gotten some decent loot drops from level 4 missions), hell when i got offered a caldari navy hookbill i danced up and down and took the offer cause i like haveing stuff no one else has, I would have prefered get a caldari navy shield boost amp bpc at 150k lp, but the hookbill was my icing just an extra bonus, you just have to look at it from not a stuck up point of veiw, if there were no lp's in the game you would still be doing level 4 agent missions making tons of isk and getting tons of loot (dont lie to me and say you wouldn't), and you would not be complaining at all. If someone at my place of work gave me something or sold it to me real cheap because of all the hard work i do i would not be going "this is a crappy offer, give me something better, i want better stuff"
Take it or leave it. thats how the system is if you dont like it then dont do agent missions.
